Instagram has just released Hyperlapse – a standalone app allowing you to create simple time-lapse videos – and with SocialSafe you can back these up to your own library, along with any comments and likes.

Hyperlapse is pretty much as simple as point, shoot, share, except you get to choose the speed at which the movie plays. Aside from the variable clip speed, the only other frill is the automated video stabilisation that should hopefully avert any motion sickness you might encounter from particularly shaky camera work. If you choose to share the video in Instagram, then you can add as filters as you would with any other Instagram video.

In a blog post announcing the new app, Instagram said: “We designed Hyperlapse to be as simple as possible.”

Yesterday, Former EAv CEO, Duleepa Wijayawardhana, aka (e)Dups, posted a message in the Empire Avenue Leaders discussion group, putting those who violate the EAv Terms of Service on notice.

He wrote, “Over my tenure as CEO, I was very lenient on many people… I have come to realize, looking back, that perhaps I was too lenient.”

He continued to single out 3 specific violates that would result in banning the offender.

Do you ever think back to how things used to be? Auckland motorways used to be known as the car park. My commute on the North Shore is so easy these days, thanks to the awesome travel information we have at our fingertips and some awesome transport planning by Auckland Transport and the NZ Transport Agency.

“You have no scheduled appointments today”, the display on my mobile says. “Are you going to work?”

I speak to it: “Yes. Audio on.”

“Travel time via the motorway is 67 minutes. Travel time via Public Transport is 23 minutes if you leave now.”

“Travel time in 30 minutes?”

As a hermit, the above statements are unusual.  

As a senior over 71, who could not walk or talk upon joining Empire Avenue (a few short months ago) the praise I have for this wee game is nothing short of taking out a page in the New York Times.
